Steve Stycos and a crew of volunteers were busy last weekend digging holes at Meshanticut Lake (near Cranston High School West). Steve reports:
“The five trees that were planted bring the total new trees planted in the park by the library program and the West Bay Land Trust in last five years to 20. More are needed, especially in the park’s heavily used SW corner. I hope to arrange for planting trees there next year.
I always need help, especially with watering. Anyone who would like to help can contact me at sstycos26@gmail.com. Tax deductible donations for tree planting can be made to the West Bay Land Trust, 1389 Hope Road, Hope, RI, 02831.
Meshanticut is a great little park that is heavily used. We need to give it some attention to make it a little nicer.”
So if you have some time and would like to help keep the trees growing, please contact Steve about water duty.
See you at the market.
