Farm fresh eggs for salads and deviling are available from Pak Express, gC Farms, PV Farmstand, and Wedgewood Flowers. Add zip to your food with potted herbs from Blue Skys Farm.
For the grill, there are meats from PV Farmstand, chicken from Baffoni’s Poultry and incredibly fresh fish and shelfish from the Local Catch.
There are heaps and heaps of just-picked produce at all our farmers’ stands: lettuce, chard, bok choy, broccoli, leeks, garlic scapes, cauliflower, radishes, beets and sugar snap peas.
At the market table, you’ll find honey, cheese, butter, jams, nuts and nut butters from local producers.
Have your own indoor fireworks with an explosion of flowers from Blue Skys. Below are the sunflowers I bought last Saturday, still blazing away on Thursday afternoon.
This week we will have a representative of EcoRI News tabling at the market. They are the only on-line news service dedicated solely to environmental issues affecting Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. Please stop by to find out about what they do, and how you can help keep this vital service digging up the Earth-y facts.
Public Meeting- Narragansett Bay Research Reserve Review
Every few years the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve undergoes a performance review by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to ensure we are meeting our program goals. NOAA is our chief funder and establishes a significant number of requirements that the Reserve and our state partner, the RI Department of Environmental Management, are expected to meet.
This public forum will provide an opportunity for our partners and other stakeholders to provide input to a NOAA review team. For questions, contact Bob Stankelis, Reserve Manager, at bob.stankelis@dem.ri.gov or 401-683-7365. We hope you can join us!
See you at the market.
