It’s hard to believe in such warm weather, but our outdoor season is drawing to a close as winter approaches. Most of our vendors will be moving to the Wintertime Market in Pawtucket, and we’ll be sending you a list of where you can find them there.
Meanwhile, send them off with warm fuzzy feelings and full pockets for the final 2 weeks of the market. We’ll have our usual fresh caught fish (and free coffee) from the Local Catch, Jamaican patties from Patois Catering, pasture raised meats from Weatherlow Farms, baked goods from LeFavorite Bakery, apples and cider from Barden Orchard, Armenian foods from Havav Market, fresh chicken from Baffoni’s Poultry, jams, honey, nuts & nut butters, soaps and candles at the Market Table, and eggs, veggies, herbs, plants, gourds and flowers from our farmers: gC, Blue Skys, Pak Express and Wedgewood.
We will also host the Rhodes Elementary School PTA; they’ll be selling cookies and other goodies to raise funds for their programs and activities.
The DEM tree program will be distributing the free trees which homeowners signed up to receive in the upper parking lot.
We noticed that a famous hummus company is selling squeeze bottles of flavored hummus as a sandwich/wrap condiment. With some fresh hummus from Havav Market, and eggs, lettuce, bread and onions from our other vendors, we made a delicious egg salad sandwich with no mayo! This would probably be just as great with smoked fish, bacon or sliced chicken breast.
We will once again have our volunteer recyclers collecting styrofoam on October 29. Clean foam cups, take out containers and solid packing foam pieces (no peanuts, please) will be accepted, and taken to the Eco Depot at the landfill.
See you at the market.
