It’s the final market of 2016, sad to say. It was a tough year for some of our favorite produce, done in by the late frost or the intense heat and drought. But our loyal customers kept our farmers afloat, and they are hoping to see you at the Wintertime Market in Pawtucket starting November 5. We’ll be sending you out a list of where you can find them there.
Wedgewood Flowers will have fresh cranberries this week, plucked from a Massachusetts bog. Blue Skys has plenty of green tomatoes, great for salsa, chutney or frying. And Silk Tree Farm will be with us for the day, with the full complement of goat milk soaps and soy candles. Stock up for the holidays!
Our tireless recyclers will again be collecting Styrofoam. Those indestructible containers and solid packing forms will be taken to the Eco Depot at the landfill, where they will be responsibly delivered for re-purposing. Coffee cups, take out boxes, hard packing styrofoam, styrofoam plates etc…No soft, squishy styrofoam or packing peanuts, pipe insulation or bubble wrap. All items must be rinsed clean of food.
Thanks for another wonderful summer.
See you at the market.
