Winter blahs? Post-holiday malaise? Flu or a robust cold (such as the one Santa left in my stocking)? Your favorite farmers market is the place to find help for all these maladies and more. There’s nothing quite like a steaming bowl of homemade chicken soup to cure what ails you. Add carrots, potatoes, chard or spinach, hard-boiled eggs for a meal that will clear your head and fill your stomach with fuel to fight off the bug. Vegetarians
can make a stock with root veggies and herbs, for a similar effect.
Herbal teas with local honey will heal and warm as well, and boost your immune system.
See you at a market.
