Time to clean out those closets, drawers, basements and garages? Home office cluttered with obsolete peripherals and mystery chargers? Has that pile of old curtains been sitting in the same spot for years waiting for a new use? Whisk those unwanted items down to the market this Saturday; Goodwill Industries will have their truck in the upper parking lot to collect them. This is a great way to recycle responsibly in one convenient stop, and Goodwill provides jobs to local workers.
June brings the arrival of more spring vegetables for all, and great news for our SNAP customers: our Bonus Bucks program, in partnership with Farm Fresh Rhode Island, has now increased the percentage of the bonus from 40% to 100%! For every dollar of SNAP benefit used at the market, customers will receive a free dollar to spend on fruits, vegetables, herbs, and food plants. This expands the amount of healthy food our SNAP users can purchase from our farmers, and increases the amount of SNAP dollars that go directly to growers instead of food giants.

From their website: “OURgrain is changing flour forever with Brewers’ Spent Grain. OUR mission is to create sustainable consumables that have a significant impact on food waste while delivering quality and healthfulness to our consumers. OUR promise is to be a driving force for implementing sustainability and conscientiousness in food production to create a better future. ” Come check them out!
